Introductory text on f. 4 states: 'This Roll of Honour is dedicated to all ranks who gave their lives during the Second World War and were serving with the Middlesex Yeomanry on the 3rd September 1939 or served with a Middlesex Yeomanry Squadron or Signal Section between September 1939 and August 1945. Many who served in the Territorial Army were commissioned in the Royal Corps of Signals and other arms of H. M. Forces, and when the two regiments of the Middlesex Yeomanry were disbanded in 1941 most of the officers and other ranks were posted to various units in the Royal Signals network of communications. Some were sent to different theatres of war and the signal sections remaining intact frequently changed command which has made it almost impossible to trace all who died on active service. Therefore, we also pay tribute to the unknown Middlesex Yeomen who gave their lives in the service of their Country.'
