Implied scale, about 6 ft to 1 inch, \par \par Very similar in technique to the upper elevation of the west end (north side) on WRE/6/1/3, this study shows the east half of the library bay, but on the south side. It complements Hawksmoor\rquote s long section on this side, WRE/3/4/15. A slight difference is the absence of a masonry course in the plinth to the right of the aedicule, presumably because the plinth does not step back in this section. The step-back in the aedicule plinth was introduced at this stage of the design (compare WRE/3/3/16). Hawksmoor\rquote s hand is apparent in the impressionistic pen shading around the flowers in the capital abacuses (compare WRE/3/3/5). \cf0\b\f1\par }
