Works Sub-Committee

The Works Sub-Committee was appointed by Dean and Chapter in June 1925 on the advice of the Representative Committee to control and direct works to the dome, dome piers and peristyle. Works to other areas of the cathedral continued in the normal way under the direction of the Surveyor and his staff. This sub-group includes minutes of Works Sub-Committee Meetings, reports to the Sub-Committee, reports by the Sub-Committee to the Representative Committee, and correspondence between committee members.

Access is strictly by appointment only with the architectural archivist. Material dating from 1990 to the present day is not currently available for public consultation. Some records are subject to a closure period of 75 years under the Data Protection Act.
