The inscription reads: "This panelling formed part of the furnishings of the city church of St Dionis Backchurch that was removed before the demolition of the church in 1878 to St Dionis' hall, Lime Street. which was in itself demolished in 1967, it was incorporated into the present structure in 1973."\par }
