The drawing is executed in pencil, ink and watercolour on paper.

The drawing depicts Christ in the garden of Gethsemane with Peter, James and John. The three disciples are asleep while Christ prays and is offered a cup by an angel. On the left hand side of the scene Judas is leading a mob to arrest Christ. The scene is framed by a classical arch and dome.
